The East Coast Protection Group is a community group – initiated by the community, for the community. Without your input, we wouldn’t succeed in meeting our goals!

Haere mai, uru mai ki a mātou! Come, be part of us!

We have a number of opportunities for volunteers from regular trapping with the Coastal Crusaders, to helping with planting days and biodiversity monitoring as part of the Habitat Hero team.

Join for life or join for a year! Having a strong membership plays a crucial role in our project:

  • Being part of our family: Your support is more than just a membership; it inspires us to keep delivering meaningful conservation outcomes for our project.
  • Critical funding: Membership fees help fund essential tasks such as replacing broken traps, installing signage and other necessary operational expenses.
  • Grant support: Demonstrating strong membership numbers reinforces our credibility with sponsors and grantors, showcasing community backing for our initiatives.
  • Voting: Members are entitled to vote at our AGM’s and help lead the direction of our project
  • Stay updated: participate in events and field days, and keep updated with quarterly newsletters

Annual membership fees are:

  • Adult $30
  • Family (2 adults & children) $50
  • 5 year $120
  • Life $300

We consider our sponsors as part of our whanau, our East Coast family. Without them we would be unable to achieve the work we do! Please support them where you can.

There are a number of sponsorship levels on offer which we can tailor to best to enhance your brand.

Sponsorship is vital for safeguarding the future of the East Coast habitat. It allows us to continue building on our years of successful restoration.
